Environmental issues
Many of us do not put a second thought when we bin our trash or think too far beyond that. However, unsorted household waste is a major contributor to the global environmental issue.
Did you know... ?
-The slogan “3 Rs”- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle is arranged according to its importance?
Many people do remember to recycle their waste but neglect the first 2 Rs; reducing their buys or expanding the lifespan of the items they have. The sequence is important as reducing and reusing is the most effective method to minimize waste.
2. -A dirt product cannot be recycled?
A dirty item will contaminate the rest of the products in the bin. So, take the extra effort to rinse out all food scraps/ liquid in containers to help ensure the recycling process is a success!
What can I do to help?
1. - Bring your own bag!
When going for a weekly grocery shopping trip, one household easily consumes up to 10-15 number of plastic bags. Just imagine how many bags we could save if everyone stopped using them!
2. - Buy in bulks and avoid excessive packaging
Buy refillable packages and buy items with unlimited shelf life eg: detergent, to reduce excessive packagings
