Aspire. Advocate. Act.- Teenage Pregnancy

Teenage pregnancy

Teenage pregnancy
It has been seven years. My daughter should be in Primary one right now. Every girl who whizzes pass me sparks a memory that has been constantly kept in my mind. I was a student when I had a child and I could not bear to give her up nor did I have the ability to raise her. My life was in a mess as I was caught in the dilemma of the complications of teenage pregnancy.

What is Teenage Pregnancy and how does it come about?
It is when a teenage girl, of age thirteen to nineteen, gets pregnant.
This may be a result of many different situations, and the more common examples are the result of becoming pregnant while involved in long-term dating relationships, hooking up or rape.

Implications
Implications may include emotional trauma for the rest of her life if the mother chooses to abort the baby. If the mother chooses to keep the baby, she could bring the child up herself, and it may be at the expense of her own education and future. Fathers to the child of some may not want to marry the mother which will also result in a dysfunctional-family environment for the child to grow up in.
