In brief, the important provisions under the Smoking Act are:
Prohibition of smoking by youths below 18 years of age.
Prohibition on the sale and supply of tobacco for youths below 18 years of age.
Prohibition of smoking-related advertisements and promotion of tobacco products.
Mandatory labelling of health warnings on tobacco products.
Tar and nicotine content limited to not more than 15mg and 1.3mg per cigarette.
Prohibition on import and sale of imitation tobacco products and chewing tobacco
